This is normal and expected, as fresh grease is used to prioritize smooth operation and long-term durability. After a few rides, the grease will break in and the pedals will spin more freely. Periodic greasing helps maintain consistent feel and performance—thicker grease extends service intervals, while lighter grease increases free-spin but requires more frequent maintenance. We recommend adding grease every 3 months with heavy use.
